Katherine Channing “KC” Roehl joined the Davis Kelin Law Firm as an Albuquerque injury lawyer in April 2025. She works primarily in the areas of medical malpracticecatastrophic injurywrongful death, and insurance bad faith.

Background:

KC’s family has strong roots in New Mexico, going back generations before it became a State. Her ties to the legal community here are strong too, with her grandfather, Joseph E. Roehl (deceased) having been a founding partner of a well-known law firm, Modrall, Sperling, Roehl, Harris, and Sisk; her father, Jerrald J. Roehl, founder of the Roehl Law Firm, P.C.; and, her brother, Ryan Roehl, an attorney at New Mexico Legal Aid (“NMLA”).

KC proudly received her undergraduate degree, her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), and her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) all from the University of New Mexico. Go Lobos!

Career Overview:

In 2008, Albuquerque the Magazine named KC one of the “Top 15 People to Change the Face of Albuquerque”.

Following law school, KC immediately began representing plaintiffs in every aspect of civil litigation, from client intake through trial and post-verdict appeals. KC has a long history of representing clients in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, construction defects, and insurance bad faith.

KC has also worked for a civil legal advocacy organization dedicated to opening the door to equal access to justice for all disenfranchised and low-income people and communities throughout New Mexico, where she represented clients on a variety of issues. This role honed her ability to advocate for vulnerable populations and reinforced her dedication to improving the lives of New Mexicans.

In 2025, KC earned the recommendation for a judicial position by the Judicial Nominating Commission. KC is a long-standing member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association.
