Gina Downes

Background:
Ms. Downes is a native New Mexican, born and raised in Corrales. She graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, from the University of New Mexico where she earned Dean’s List honors and was a member of the Phi Eta and Golden Key Honor Societies. She earned her law degree in 2016 from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, School of Law, where she again earned Dean’s List honors and was an Order of the Barrister National Honor Recipient. As top advocate on the UMKC National Mock Trial Team, she was awarded the Terry L. Thomas Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and received a Scholarship to attend the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, WY, where she learned many innovative and effective trial techniques.
Overview:
Ms. Downes began her law career with a well-known defense firm in Albuquerque which provided her with invaluable insight into insurance law, insurance defense, and insurance company claims-handling practices. She quickly realized her calling to represent individuals who have been injured or harmed, and in 2018 joined the Davis Kelin Law Firm as an Albuquerque personal injury attorney. To date, Ms. Downes has handled hundreds of Albuquerque personal injury cases involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and premises liability. Ms. Downes is currently a Board Member with the New Mexico Trial Lawyer Association and serves on the Board of Editors for the New Mexico Trial Lawyer Journal.
